Is Dexter a full-time replacement?
Yes, Dexter is a private school that completely replaces traditional schooling. Students complete courses across the main disciplines and receive a traditional transcript for all of their course credits.
What kind of student thrives at Dexter?
Dexter is designed for students passionate about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). It's for students that want to learn and aren't reaching their full potential at their current school. If your child loves to read, write their own creative stories, plays Minecraft, programs their own video games, or paints on their own - they'll fit in at Dexter.
Is Dexter in-person or online?
Dexter students may either be online, in-person or a combination of both. We've built a proprietary platform that all Dexter students use to access their academics.
What does a typical day look like?
An average day includes two to three live instruction sessions that last up to 50 minutes, two to three small group tutoring sessions via video chat, and daily tasks and assignments. The average student will spend from three to five hours per day on Dexter.
Does the curriculum align with standards?
Yes, the Dexter Mathematics and English Language Arts curriculum aligns with Common Core Standards. Our science curriculum aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards.
What is a pod?
Each student is placed into a pod that holds regular social events outside of their course work. Each pod has a dedicated learning coach that facilities social interactions.
Is there a parent portal?
Yes! Dexter parents have unparalleled acccess and transparency into their child's academic progress. The parent portal allows for continuous monitoring of grades, task submissions, learning coach communications, and curriculum review.
Is Dexter year round?
Yes, we have Fall, Spring, and Summer academic terms. Students may pause at any time (i.e. during the summer term). Monthly billing allows for flexibility throughout the year.
Do students continue after the age of 14?
Yes, the oldest students we accept are 14 years old so they have enough time to complete our high school degree requirements. Students continue to the age of 18 and graduate from our high school program with a traditional diploma.
Where are the Dexter campuses?
There is currently a Dexter campus in Wichita Falls, TX. Our long term vision is to have campuses in most major cities across the globe.
Does Dexter focus on college admissions?
Absolutely. Our two primary aims are college readiness and professional competency. Every Dexter student completes courses aligned with university admissions requirements and receives counseling as they apply to universities.

How much does Dexter cost?
Tuition is $300 per month for online students and $550 per month for in-person students. Most students opt to take a summer term and maintain their membership the entire year, while some pause their tuition during the summer term.
